Zielona Góra University Library – the centre of knowledge and educational resources

The University of Zielona Gora Library is the largest academic library in Lubuskie. It creates collections in accordance with the educational and research needs of the academic community. It collects literature in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical sciences, as well as health sciences and arts. The library serves as a centre of scientific information providing access to information on national and world scientific achievements, as well as services and knowledge resources in traditional and modern forms, based on electronic sources and online resources.
The collections include the following types of documents:

• 534,671 vol. of books,
• 251,042 units of special collections:
  • 2,427 units of manuscripts and old prints,
  • 1,978 units of cartographic documents,
  • 12,860 units of graphic documents,
  • 14,911 units of music prints,
  • 14,135 units of audiovisual documents,
  • 5,028 units of social life documents,
  • 5,895 units of microfilm and microfiche,
  • 143,151 units of patents,
  • 50,657 units of standards,
• 2,448 units of electronic publications on media,
• 93,046 vol. of periodicals,
• 849 printed journals in current subscription:
  • 823 titles of domestic journals,
  • 26 titles of foreign journals,

as well as:

• 5.5 million publications of different types within multi-domain databases for remote access, including:
  • 450,000 e-books,
  • 12,500 e-journal titles (including Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, etc.).

and:

• 55,225 e-standards,
• 239,720 e-patents,
• 43,775 publications from the collection of the Zielona Góra Digital Library,
• 4,737 publications from the Repository of the University of Zielona Gora.

The library offers access to 76 licensed databases corresponding to the University's profile, purchased under consortium agreements and national licenses of the Virtual Library of Science.
