The Library of the University of Zielona Gora is a university unit with the following tasks: scientific, didactic and service. It functions as a public scientific library for the spreading of knowledge in both academic and regional environments.

The mission of the Library of the University of Zielona Gora is to support education and research carried out at the university and to provide library users with access to information on national and world scientific achievements, as well as to help develop students' self-education skills, care for their overall cultural development, and protect and preserve the collection for future generations.

This goal is realized through:

• organizing access to knowledge and popularizing it;
• participating in the improvement of the scientific and professional community by providing modern knowledge and services;
• creating a friendly working environment and adapting the services provided to the changing needs of users and new technological opportunities;
• building the collection in accordance with the profile of the university, the needs of its employees, students and doctoral students in cooperation with teaching and research staff;
• taking care of the development of the library staff and deepening their motivation to work and improve their skills,
• creating a good image of the library in the academic community and cooperating with other libraries in the country and around the world.
