The University of Zielona Góra Library is a welcoming place for all users who wish to use its resources. We help people with mobility and visual disabilities to access knowledge sources freely, offering the best possible conditions for receiving information and using the Library.
The librarian on duty, acting as an assistant and guide, is available every day from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Urban and architectural amenities:
• parking
• wheelchair ramp at the front of the building
• external elevator
• automatically opening exterior door
• hands-free internal elevator with Braille buttons
• properly marked and equipped restrooms for people with disabilities on every floor
• handrails on both sides of the stairwells
• width of the doors, elevators, security gates, and size of the individual work booths adapted for wheelchair users
Spatial organization:
• indoor and outdoor surveillance
• doorstep-free space
• non-slip flooring
• library counters adapted for wheelchair users
• workstations adapted for people with disabilities (adjustable table tops, some chairs with armrests)
• width of doors, elevators, security gates for collections, size of the individual work booths
• distance between shelves in the Free Access Area—allowing for wheelchair access
• first-aid room, accessible to individuals whose health condition requires medical intervention
Specialized equipment and software:
• computer stations equipped with software for people with visual impairments can be found in the Media Reading Room and on each floor of the Free Access Area
• touchscreen monitors
• omniReader - portable reading system (Media Reading Room)
• computer station with a specialized keyboard featuring large keys and a large-screen monitor (Current Periodicals Reading Room)
• computer station with a Plustek OpticBook A300 (A3) scanner and scanning software (AbbyFine Reader 12 and Book Pavilion) (1st and 3rd floors)
• Zielona Góra Digital Library for the Visually-Impaired
• for users with visual impairments, the University Library provides computer software enabling access to information in electronic format
Assistance from library staff:
• in navigating the building
• in catalog, bibliographic, and database searches
• in scanning excerpts from books and journals
• for people with visual impairments in using the library’s digital resources and specialized software.
