The University Library provides readers with free access to 250,000 books and 1,300 titles of periodicals. In the free-access areas, the collections are arranged and labelled by nine fields of study consisting of minor classes. The basis for the division is the Universal Decimal Classification based on the UDC-PO58 (2006) abbreviated tables resource, which has been adapted to the library's needs. The field collections can be used on site, and a significant number of books can be borrowed externally.
Distribution of subject collections in the free access area
There are computer workstations at which users can use the Internet, the library's computer catalogue and electronic databases. Readers can use the designated workstations in the free access area, as well as 10 individual work booths and 5 collaborative work rooms.
Wireless Internet is available in the Library building. It can be used by all users.
The University Library allows readers to make free scans on self-service copiers and send them by e-mail to their own mailbox.
The scanners are located on the first floor and on floors I - IV in the free access area. Each scanner comes with an instruction manual, and you can ask the librarian on duty for help in case of problems.
