Art Galleries of the Library of the University of Zielona Góra: the Graphics Gallery of the Library of Art and the Gallery of the University Library are part of Artoteka's activities, the idea of which is to collect collections, create artistic collections, document art, as well as organize activities open to the community, such as exhibitions, shows, presentations and meetings with outstanding artists. Artoteka's task is to "capture" important achievements of the latest art in the field of graphics, media and artistic photography. Artoteka is a joint initiative of librarians and artists from the Institute of Visual Arts (formerly the Institute of Fine Arts). Her idea gained the support of many outstanding artists from various creative environments who accepted the invitation to participate in exhibitions and meetings, declared their willingness to co-create a collection of works, artistic documentation and library collections. Artoteka is supported by the Program Council, which is the guarantor of the assumed idea. Artoteka is an opportunity for the library to gain knowledge and information about the latest art, to multiply its collections, to create a significant art collection. For the academic community, it is an opportunity to participate in artistic events with the participation of outstanding artists, an opportunity to review the best selection of art. It is also a form of integration of creative and scientific communities, as well as the promotion of the university, the city and the region.

The Graphics Gallery has been operating since 2002, the Gallery of the University Library since 2012. The manager of the Gallery is Dr. Janina Wallis, a senior certified curator.

Artoteka and the BUZ Special Collections Department work together in the field of art, creating selected collections of works and initiating a number of projects aimed at presenting their own collections and promoting artists from various creative environments.

The collection of artistic works of the University Library has 13,000 items. units.
